They will need to remember their username/password, but you can look their usernames up and can reset their passwords whenever you want. Another feature is that you can give codes to parents so that they can see the communication between you and their child.

 If a student has already joined another class on Edmodo then they can just log in as usual with their new class assigned to their login. Teachers can create as many groups as they want. You can separate your classes, subjects, or even create new groups within your classes for projects so that only the people in the groups can communicate with each other.

Teachers have the ability to send alerts to students like events and assignments. They have the option to post any item to a public time line if they so choose, and there is also a handy calendar that keeps everyone informed about upcoming exams and other events and special occasions. Edmodo also offers an option to have activity text messaged or emailed to you.
